Top 20 Songs You Should Add on Spotify

While I am an avid fan of music, in general, I really only enjoy a select few kinds of music. I enjoy everything from current hits to alternative and oldies to pop. Here is a mix of a couple different genres and some of my favorite songs in no particular order I have on my Spotify that I think you should listen to.

  1. “Hostage” by Sia: Sia is most commonly known for Chandelier or her works writing great songs for others. On her album, 1000 Forms of Fear, Hostage is one of my personal favorites because of its beat and lyrics.
  2. “This Town” by Niall Horan: As most of the world knows, Niall Horan, member of One Direction, released this song as his first solo single. I love it because of its beautiful yet simple blend of guitar and vocals.
  3. “I Miss You” by Blink-182: Blink-182 is most commonly recognized for “All the Small Things,” but this is one of my personal favorites by them. It is a slow song with a very deep message, while still managing to be very catchy.
  4. “This is Gospel” by Panic! At the Disco: Like Blink, PATD is most commonly known for only one song, “I Write Sins Not Tragedies,” but “This is Gospel” is my favorite PATD song. It is really catchy and has a very fun beat.
  5. “Check Yes, Juliet” by We the Kings: This song is just sort of a feel-good song that you can listen to at any time for a jam session or study break.
  6. “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen: I would assume most people already have this legendary song on their Spotify, but if you don’t, I highly recommend it. “Bohemian Rhapsody” is a very famous rock song that is adored by all.
  7. “Dear Maria, Count Me In” by All Time Low: This song is also sort of a feel-good song that you can jam to at any time. It has a catchy beat and fun lyrics.
  8. “A.M.” by One Direction: From One Direction’s most current album, Made in the A.M., this song is really fun to listen or jam to and has a very catchy chorus.
  9. “Chocolate” by The 1975: The 1975 is most well-known for this song because of its catchy music and fun to sing lyrics.
  10. “Take on Me” by a-ha: This famous oldies hit has a very catchy rhythm and enjoyable lyrics.
  11. “Devil in Disguise” by Elvis Presley: This song by The King is one of my favorites due to the constant change in tempo. The lyrics are also kind of funny and it is a fun song to sing along to.
  12. “Someone You Like” by The Girl and the Dreamcatcher: This is a song by two current Disney Channel stars that have a band. It is played with a ukulele and is a slower song, overall, but is still catchy and nice to listen to.
  13. “Spirits” by The Strumbellas: The message of this song is darker than most songs, but the song has a very cool chorus and a repetitive beat.
  14. “My Hero” by Foo Fighters: This song is slower and more chilled out, but has great lyrics and is good to listen to while relaxing.
  15. “Papaoutai” by Stromae: This song is obviously not in English, but it is still very catchy and popular. Stromae is a Belgian-French musician, and this song is one of the most well known in France and other French-speaking countries. While you might not understand the lyrics, the song itself is very memorable and you should definitely give it a try.
  16. “Guys My Age” by Hey Violet: This song is a really fun party song with repetitive but cool lyrics that tell of the singer’s problems with guys her age.
  17. “Ophelia” by The Lumineers: This song offers a fun melody and catchy lyrics. This is a feel-good song that you can jam to anywhere.
  18. “Dark Paradise” by Lana Del Ray: This is another dark song, but it is strangely beautiful. Lana’s voice is captivating and her words tell a beautiful tale.
  19. “Girls Talk Boys (Stafford Brothers Remix)” by 5 Seconds of Summer: Because this song is a remix of the original, it is more of a party song and I would label it as dance music. However, it is still an awesome song to listen to and if you’re not into dance music, the original is available on Spotify, too.
  20. “Love Me Like You” by Little Mix: This song is simple but cute and is always very fun to sing along to.
