Lagomarcino’s: Nothing says affection like confections

Whether you want to say ‘I love you’, ‘I’m sorry’, or land somewhere in the middle nothing expresses affection more than chocolate. Since 1908 Lagomarcino’s has provided the QC area with delicious confectionery treats. Passed down for generations the business has expanded their menu to many items other than chocolate, but if you really want to taste the history their Moline location houses the original copper pot originally used by founder Angelo Lagomarcino. Their menu includes sandwiches with bread made from a local recipe, ice cream treats, and signature drinks created by Angelo  nearly a century ago. With delicious food, a family atmosphere, and historic mahogany seating Lagomarcino’s is a wonderful place for a date with your significant other.

Dinner at TPC Deere Run

Host of the annual John Deere Classic, TPC Deere Run sits on the banks of the Rock River and houses amenities on par with some of the most famous golf courses in the world. The clubhouse sits adjacent to the iconic 18th whole as well as provides a stunning view of the beautiful Rock River. On Saturday February 11th as well as Valentine’s Day treat your partner to a delicious meal cooked by Chef Sean. The evening offers a four-course meal with menu items including smoked Gouda potato chowder, filet mignon, cherry jubilee and  much more. Not just for the golf lover, this Valentine’s Day dinner offers a stunning view, a delicious meal and a one of a kind experience with your other half.

Illuminated Walk at Black-Hawk Historic Site

From 6:30-8:30 PM on Valentine’s Day enjoy a self-guided tour of the Historic BlackHawk site. Starting with music in the Watch Tower Lodge, the night includes homemade donuts, refreshments, and an illuminated path for a romantic walk underneath the nearly full moon. This event is free for all ages and great for families, couples, and even singles. this date opportunity is a peaceful way to spend time together, and is a nice break from the conventional dinner scene.

Dinner at Modern Woodman Park

Baseball may be taking a break, but romance never stops at Modern Woodman Park. Home to the Quad City River Bandits, Modern Woodman Park has one of the most unique views of the Quad City Riverfront. This Valentine’s Day the park is offering a four course meal served in their Champion’s Club, or for the more intimate experience Luxury Suites are available. If that isn’t enough, the club is also offering Rascal’s Sweetheart Package. Fun for all ages the packets include, delivery by Rascal, a hand written note, and tickets to a game as well as two Ferris wheel rides.

Circa 21 Dinner Playhouse

Currently running Ghost: The Musical, Circa 21 provides extremely unique entertainment and dining options this Valentine’s Day. One of only two venues in the country that feature a performing wait staff, the theater provides a very different experience than the typical venue. A freshly prepared meal accompanies each show, and talent from all around the world, as well as many local actors, provides the entertainment. Currently featuring Ghost: The Musical an adaptation of the film that was nominated for three Tony’s, Circa 21 Dinner Playhouse is a great way to spend an evening this Valentine’s Day.
