Farmer’s Market Season is Approaching

Summer is coming and that means it is time to start supporting local farmers and artisans at your local Farmers’ Market! Starting the first week of May, both Davenport and Bettendorf will again be hosting outdoor farmers’ markets. Freight House Market located on West River Drive next to Modern Woodman Park  will return to the outdoors for the summer. The market welcomes all kinds of local produce, food trucks, and artisan creations from all around the area, there are even massage chairs for those that really wish to shed away some stress.  The Freight House market offers a great chance to eat healthy and shop through local vendors. But, shoppers aren’t the only ones to enjoy the festivities walkers, joggers, and bikers traveling on the Riverfront Trail often stop by to enjoy the wonderful food and live music.

The Freight House Market has the following hours beginning May 3rd and ending October  29th, Saturday 8:00 am-1:00 pm, Sunday 10:00 am-2:00 pm, and Wednesday 8:00 am-1:00 pm. The Bettendorf Farmers Market located on 2117 State Street, is open Wednesday and Saturday from 8:00 am- 12:00 pm starting the first week of May.


If you can’t wait that long, this weekend on the 15th the  Freight House market will host an Easter Event from 8:00 am-1:00 pm. The event will feature an Easter Egg Hunt starting at 9:00 and a visit from the Easter Bunny later in the day. There will also be a cookie decorating activity and opportunities to win an Easter basket giveaways.
